What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world

I would readdress the balance, the division of resources and power between everyone, not just the 1%.
I want to live in a world, want my daughter to grow up in world, where everyone is equal.
A world where everyone has a home, has enough food, has clothing and earns a livable wage.
A world where everyone has access to affordable – if not free – education and medical care.

A little socialist? A little idealistic?
Maybe, yes.
I want to believe in a political system where all people in society contribute to the production of goods and services and that those goods should be shared equally. And a world where this happens is

Sadly, this is not a world or a system that I live in and so I must continue to to balance my ideals with my situation, to educate myself and my family on the best ways to conduct ourselves in a world that is unfair

  1. I doubt this would ever happen, unfortunately. It would be great if everyone had access to the same opportunities, but it usually depends on the family you’re born into. Sad but true.

  2. I’m with you on this one. I wished we did grow up in world where everyone is equal. A world where everyone has a home, food, clothing and earns a livable wage. It’s so sad to see commercials where third world countries are starving or animals are being abused. There’s a lot of hate and anger. I’m sure a lot of people are afraid to travel because of the terror attacks.

  3. I couldn’t have put it any other way Amy! You are correct on this. It is sad but true that these ideals don’t happen or would never exist. Though, I like the way you think Elia.

  4. If you live in a first world country, than you are probably the 1%. It only takes $32,400 annually to be considered in the 1%. Even the poor in my country gets to enjoy a clean functioning city, while most other people have to live in dangerous wilderness type conditions, with lots of disease everywhere.

My number 1 thing I would change is that people who have children take responsibility for those children. Too many dads running out on their kids, and women having kids with multiple fathers. Then those children become societies problem. There’s also parents who don’t actually do parenting, and raise ego maniacs who think they are entitled to the world without working for it. A parenting first approach would solve the worlds problems IMO. I never hope for the government to fix my problems, I need to take that responsibility to at least make the grass a little greener in my part of the world.
